
OUR STORY
B&S Agencies Ltd., was established in 1969 and quickly began specializing in the manufacture of VHF and UHF television antennas to enhance reception of Public Broadcasting Services which officially began broadcasting in 1962. With the proliferation of private television stations from the neighboring island of Sicily further investments were made into the design and manufacture of signal amplifiers to enhance reception of long range TV signals. Increase in production capacity enabled the company to also export to Norther Europe, Scandinavia, as well as North Africa and the Middle East.
By the mid 1990’s anticipating changes in the distribution of television channels due to satellite broadcasting, the company diversified into the supply and installation of domestic satellite receiving systems, as well as VSAT data communications via satellite. Of note, the company represented and supported many of the first companies providing global data communications via satellite, such as MCI, France Telecom, and Loral Space & Communications Inc.
The company was instrumental in establishing the first permanent broadband connection to the Internet backbone for the University of Malta, establishing the Malta Internet Exchange (MIX) in 2002, and continues to support a number of large scale VSAT implementations internationally.
With developments in IOT and M2M technologies in the last 5 year, the company has built a diverse portfolio of solutions targeting Personnel and Asset tracking, vehicle and vessel telematics, as well as Agritech solutions.
The company also operates LoRaWAN networks locally, forming part of the Global LoRa Alliance LoRaWAN Open Community Networks.
